In the national firefighter school in the city of Sintra, Portugal, on 26 of October, 2024, the regular annual meeting of the International Commission for Firefighting Competitions was held.
The meeting was attended by 26 representatives from 11 countries, chaired by the chairman of the commission, Klaus-Georg Franke.
At the beginning of the meeting, the director of the national firefighting school in Sintra, dr. Lidio Lopes, and Marco Martins, vice-president of the Portuguese firefighting association, greeted those present.
Nedeljko Vukalović (Croatia) vice-president of CTIF, in charge of firefighting competitions on behalf of the CTIF Executive Committee, also participated in the meeting.
Several topics were discussed at the meeting, among other things, the new rulebook for the traditional firefighter competition was discussed, and a short report was submitted on the international firefighter youth competition held in Italy in July of this year, and other related topics.
Also been agreed the date of education and training of firefighter referees for the upcoming
international firefighters competition in Berlin, Germany in 2026, which will be held in Linz,
Austria between October 24 and 26. 2025.
It was agreed that the next physical meeting of this commission will take place between
September 26 and 28, 2025 in Bulgaria, in the city of Burgas.
