On May 30, 2025, the CTIF Fire Investigation Working Group held a virtual meeting attended by 9 participants from 5 member countries. The meeting focused on strengthening international cooperation in the field of fire investigation and planning future activities.
Chairman Timo Kouki opened the meeting and introduced Mrs. Tiina Kiil from Estonia as a candidate for the position of vice-chairperson. Mrs. Kiil also gave a comprehensive presentation on the current state and practices of fire investigation in Estonia, which was well received by the participants and sparked interest in further knowledge exchange.
A key part of the meeting was dedicated to planning upcoming sessions. It was agreed that the next virtual meeting will take place on September 3, 2025, during which details about the planned in-person meeting in Prague, Czech Republic, in October 2025 will be shared. Members emphasized the importance of meeting face-to-face to exchange experiences, share valuable information, and set the strategic direction of the working group moving forward.
The participants also discussed upcoming fire investigation-related events, including seminars, trainings, conferences, and study days. It was proposed that these activities be shared more widely within the group, enabling members from different countries to attend and contribute, fostering international collaboration and professional development.
This meeting marked another important step in enhancing communication and cooperation among fire investigation professionals within the CTIF framework.
