INVITATION TO THE 15TH MEETING OF WOMEN IN FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES’

COMMISSION

You are warmly invited to the 15th meeting of the Women in Fire and Rescue Services’ Commission. The meeting will be held on the 22-23 May in Stockholm and the venue will be Kommunal´s Office, Hagagatan 2, Stockholm, Sweden.

All participants are asked to register with Mona Hjortzberg (mona.hjortzberg@kommunal.se ) and Mira Leinonen (mirafoni112@gmail.com) by sending an e-mail as soon as possible.

 

 The recommended hotel is a 3 star hotel and in an excellent location for sightseeing as well as being close to the meeting venue. The commute is easy from airports as they both have metro and bus. Some hotels are directly into the city centre from the nearest Underground Stations or a few minutes walk from the hotel. The best way to get from the airport to the hotel is to use public transport. All participants are asked to book their flights and the hotel as soon as possible.

The hotels above are about 20 minutes by train and 30 minutes walking/10 minutes bus journey from the airport and are also within close walking distance of the meeting venue.

Presentation from each country (5 - 7 minutes per country). What is going on right now in respective country to promote women in fire and rescue services? (The participants are asked to summarise and send their presentations in beforehand to mona.hjortzberg@kommunal.se.)

14.00 Transport by bus or subway to visit Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre as part of the Brand 2019 (Fire 2019) Conference.

16.30 Transport by subway to a local fire station and Gamla Stan, The Old Town in Stockholm http://www.old-town-stockholm.com/ Free time to walk around in this old and interesting part of Stockholm. There are also great opportunities for shopping in this area.

19.00 Dinner

21.30 Transport by bus or subway to City Hall. CTIF is invited to the City Hall for the Swedish Fire Protection Association 100th anniversary celebration. Dress code: Dark suit (with tie or bowtie) or long or short dress, or skirt and blouse
