The CTIF Fire Statistics Center held a physical meeting of the European Wing of the Center in the Czech Republic

In April 2026, the CTIF Fire Statistics Center held their quarterly meeting in Jihlava, a city in the Czech Republic. 

The  city has about 55,000 inhabitants. Situated on the Jihlava River on the historical border between Moravia and Bohemia, Jihlava is the capital of the Vysočina Region.

The following agenda items were discussed:

  • Participation of the Center for Fire Statistics at Interschutz 2026 in Hanover (Germany). For more details, please visit https://www.interschutz.de/en/ .

 

 

  • Furthermore, the team discussed specific topics that attract general and international attention: Fires in Countries (long-term assessment), Hospital Fires, Night-Club-Fires, and Urban Fire Risks. Specific publications are being prepared for this purpose.

 

  • The Center for Fire Statistics has agreed to participate in an international conference in November 2026 in the Czech Republic. 

     

  • A significant scope in the discussion about the activities of the Center for Fire Statistics of the CTIF is to be desired in the participation in a current EU project “EUFireStat 2”. The project started on 13th February 2026 with the Kick-off Meeting. On 14th April 2026, the 1st Steering Group meeting was held.
