FIRE AID

FIRE AID is a UK-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to strengthening fire and rescue services in low-resource countries through the ethical and sustainable donation of equipment, specialist training, and operational expertise.

Working in partnership with UK fire and rescue services and international organisations, FIRE AID helps improve emergency response capability, reduce preventable loss of life, and build resilient communities worldwide.

As an alliance of organisations committed to humanitarian emergency services support, FIRE AID promotes coordinated, cost-effective aid delivery, facilitates global partnerships, develops best practice, and ensures that surplus firefighting equipment is responsibly reused to benefit those who need it most rather than going to waste.

FIRE AID wishes to work with CTIFm members  to strengthen collaboration across Europe on the sustainable and ethical reuse of surplus fire and rescue equipment. We would like to see a coordinated Europe-wide approach to managing redundant equipment in a way that is sustainable, traceable and delivers maximum humanitarian benefit. Through our experience, FIRE AID has developed robust processes for needs-led, accountable equipment donations supported by training and long-term partnerships within the UK but want to widen the scope of our work.

We also wish to build stronger relationships with European fire and rescue services. While we already collaborate on individual projects, CTIF would provide a formal platform for knowledge exchange, partnership development and greater coordination.

Our aim is to work with European partners to explore a more coordinated approach to surplus equipment, reducing waste, strengthening global fire and rescue capacity and improving humanitarian impact.
