New chair for the CTIF Commission for Firefighting at Airports - Minutes from the last meeting

Ole Hansen from Norway just finished his final term as Chair of the CTIF Commission for Firefighting at Airports. CTIF thanks Mr Hansen for his service and welcomes Veli-Matti Saaskilahti from Finland as new Chair of the Commission. Here´s the Minutes from the Commission´s last meeting in Vienna in September.

Ole Hansen continues to serve as a member of the Commission and  as vice President on the CTIF Executive Board.

10:40 – 11:40. Combined ARFF services at the airports. Rice of category – training – education. National training standards. In the future EASA regulations will replace national standards. Or not? 13.30 – 13.45. Foam discussion continued. Information about new products from Angus Foam was handed out. Had been sent to the Commission by the company.

13.45 – 14.15. News from the member countries. Short input from each member country. Summary: Slovenia. New Fire Academy finished. Also with aircraft recovery equipment. Spain. Task Resource Analyses showed no rice in number of personnel. Sweden. Will build new training area and buy new mock up. Greece. Cat. 7 – 8. Switzerland. Finished the work with EASA regulation. Stopped training at Teeside, England. Now training in France. Luxembourg. New fire brigade organization in the country. Landside/airside. Malta. New extention of terminal. Upgrading the fleet. Most airside. Finland. Follow up EASA regulation. Bought new fire vehicles for several airports. Norway. Task Resource Analysis not finished. Stopped after 20 analysis. Using the old system for number of personell instead. Outsourcing of ARFF services at Bodø and Haugesund airports.
