Stefania Fiore tops April 22 Seminar speaker list with Beirut CBRN mission during Covid/19 pandemic

The 2020 ammonium nitrate explosion in Beirut is the largest explosion involving fertilizer in a city center during recent decades. The rescue response mission was both dangerous and complicated.

On April 22, hear Chief Stefania Fiore from Italy speak about their CBRN efforts during the immediate aftermath of the blast during the first months of the pandemic. Special measures had to be in place to not worsen the pandemic during an already extraordinarily challenging situation.

Stefania Fiore is the Deputy Chief of the Italian National Fire and Rescue Service, and in particular she is the National Coordinator of the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) emergency response, working in the Central Directorate for Emergency.

Technology in fire & rescue

The topics for our online seminar will be Challenges for Fire & Rescue Services during the Covid-19 Pandemic, European CBRN-efforts after the Beirut explosion, LNG-testing and Wildfires as a threat for industrial facilities and critical infrastructures.

In 2018 and 2019, CTIF arranged two day seminars on various topics form Fire & Rescue. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, all physical meetings have been suspended until further notice. However, on April 22th, CTIF returns with a free online webinar, including speakers from Japan, the US, Belgium, Italy and Austria.

We will return with a more detailed program shortly. The seminar will be 2,5 - 3 hrs max, and will start at 12:00 Noon, Central European Time on April 22th. (10:00 am UTC).
